At Viva Dental, caring for you comes first.

Giving you the most appropriate care means finding out as much as possible about you. On your first appointment at Viva Dental, we spend 30 to 45 minutes getting to know you, your mouth, the dental care you have had previously, your expectations, your dental needs and wants.

The first part of your appointment will be with a member of our front office team, usually a trained nurse, who will have an informal chat with you over a warm or cold drink in our private consulting room. They will ask you about your medical history and medical conditions or any medication you are on, that may affect the treatment we offer. They will do a smile analysis for you to understand what, if any, changes you would ideally like to make about your smile. They will also go through our membership plans, payment options we have and answer any questions you may have.

Following this, your dentist will meet you and accompany you to one of the treatment rooms to do a comprehensive examination and make a treatment plan for you. The dentist will do a thorough examination of your jaw joints, soft tissues, teeth and gums and take any necessary x-rays we need to diagnose dental disease. They may often take photographs inside your mouth or of your smile. Sometimes we take impressions of your teeth to help us to make a full assessment of your teeth. The dentist would then put all this information together, and in consultation with you, work out the best treatment plan for you.

In exceptional cases, for complicated treatment, it may be necessary to arrange a further consultation visit before we are able to produce a treatment plan for you.

Your treatment plan

We understand, it is important for you to be clearly informed of the treatment we are proposing, the choices you have, and how much the investment in your treatment is going to be. Our commitment to you is that we will explain these to you in plain English and address any queries and concerns you may have. We confirm all treatment plans in writing, setting out the likely
costs, payment stages and planned appointments in advance, so that you can be well informed before agreeing to your treatment plan.

Often, we break your treatment plan into three phases:
• First, we tackle pain and disease.
• Then we carry out any preventative work needed to arrest risk of further deterioration.
• And finally we address cosmetic dentistry.

As a practice, we are generally, conservative in our approach to dentistry. Our preferrence is to advocate treatment options that preserve your natural teeth for as long as possible. We believe that any dental treatment that is carried out, regardless of the reason, should blend in naturally and beautifully into your mouth, enhancing your smile and appearance rather than look and feel artificial.

Register as a patient. It's really easy.
